INSTALLATION OF STRUTS (Hardware A

1.

Remove the two plastic hand knobs which
secure the handle. Discard the hand knobs.

2.

Place the saddle washers over carriage bolts on
the handle (curved side against handle). See
Figure 5. Place struts over carriage bolts.
Secure loosely with lock washers and hex nuts.
See Figure 5.

3.

Attach the other end of struts as follows. Place
one cupped washer over each hex bolt
(crowned side against head of the bolt). Insert
hex bolts up through the middle holes in deck
beside the engine and through the struts.
Secure with cupped washers (cupped side
against strut) and hex nuts.

4.

Tighten all nuts and bolts securely.

INSTALLATION OF REAR WHEELS AND AXLE
 SHAFT (Hardware B)

NOTE: 

Your unit may have the rear wheels

attached. If so, proceed to “Attaching Starter
Rope” Section.

1.

Block the rear of the mower up securely

2.

Move rear height adjusters to the highest
position.

3.

The rear axle shaft has a right side and a left
side. The right side has two tabs and the left
side has one tab. See Figure 6.

4.

Slide the left side of the rear axle shaft through
the right pivot bar (pivot bar with keyed hole).
Rotate the axle shaft until first tab on the right
side of the axle shaft clears the hole in the pivot
bar.

Rotate further until second tab on the right side
of the axle shaft locks into the hole in the pivot
bar. The tab on the left side of the axle shaft
should hit on the surface of the left pivot bar.

5.

Place one spacer on the rear axle, then one
wave washer.

6.

Place wheel assembly on end of axle. Secure
with one flat washer and one hex jam nut. See
Figure 6. Tighten securely.

7.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 to assemble the other
wheel.

8.

Remove the block from the rear of the mower.

9.

Place all four height adjusters in the same
relative position.
