Installation manual

Installing the D-shaped handle

n

For your safety the D-shaped 
handle must be installed before 
the distance collar. Push down 
the handle bar over the shaft 
so that the handle is at angle 
to the engine (Fig. 2).

Attach and tighten bolt, washer 
and wing nut.

Adjusting the D-shaped 
handle

n

Loosen the wing screw. It is not 
required to remove the screws 
and the washer.

n

Rotate the D-shaped handle 
until the handle is positioned over 
the shaft. Minimum distance 
15.2 cm (Fig. 2).

n

While holding the unit in the 
operating position (Fig. 12), move 
the D-shaped handle into the 
position which ensures the best 
possible handling of the unit and 
tighten the wing screw (Fig. 2).

Attaching and adjusting 
the shoulder belt (Depending 
on model)

n

Pull the belt through the buckle.

n

Pull the shoulder belt over your 
head and place the pad on your 
shoulder.

n

Latch the hook of the shoulder 
belt into the metal holder (Fig. 3). 
Adjust the belt to a comfortable 
length.

Note

To facilitate installation and removal 
of attachments, place the unit on the 
ground or a workbench.

Removing cutter/blower 
and other attachments

n

To loosen the attachment, rotate 
the screw handle (3) to the left 
(Fig. 6).

n

Press and hold down the release 
button (2) (Fig. 4).

n

Hold the upper shaft housing (7) 
securely and pull the attachment 
directly out of the EZ-Link

TM

 

coupling (Fig. 5).

Installing the cutter/blower 
and other attachments

n

To loosen the attachment, rotate 
the screw handle to the left 
(Fig. 6).

n

Hold the attachment securely and 
push directly into the EZ-Link

TM

 

coupling (Fig. 5).

Note

Alignment of the release button (2) 
with the guide groove (4) facilitates 
installation (Fig. 4).

n

Secure the attachment by rotating 
the button (3) to the right (Fig. 6). 
Before operating the unit, ensure 
that the rotary handle is secure.

Installing the cutter 
attachment cover

n

Attach the cover with the guide 
hole over the lock pin (1; Fig 7).

n

Align the cover so that its holes 
agree with those in the locking 
sleeve.

n

Attach the cover to the mount with 
the screw (4) on the right and the 
nut (3) on the left (Fig 8).

n

Check that the connections 
sit tightly and correctly.
