Number of stop bits
You can use this parameter to set the number of stop bits.
To set the number of stop bits, proceed as follows:
1. Go to
Settings > Parameters > IEC 60870-5-101 > Number of stop bits
.
2. Set number of stop bits.
3. Press the
Accept
button to save the modified parameter.
Single character confirmation
With this parameter, you can set whether a confirmation is to be sent as sin-
gle characters instead of as a complete message. Single character confirma-
tion is only possible for requesting data of class 2 (Class 2 Request).
To set single character confirmation, proceed as follows:
1. Go to
Settings > Parameters > IEC 60870-5-101 > ASDU single char-
acter confirmation
.
2. Select the desired option.
3. Press the
Accept
button to save the modified parameter.
RES bit test
With this parameter, you can set whether the device is to check the RES bit
(Reserved Bit) in the control field. You can select the following options:
Option
Description
On
Messages from the master with RES bit = 1 are declined
by the device.
Off
Messages from the master with RES bit = 1 are accepted
by the device.

To set the Res bit test, proceed as follows:

Settings > Parameters > IEC 60870-5-101 > ASDU RES bit test

2. Select the desired option.
3. Press the
Accept
button to save the modified parameter.
ASDU sequence optimization
With this parameter, you can set which method is to be used for optimizing
the ASDU types. The standard enables optimization in order to be able to
transfer multiple value changes in a telegram in a sequence of ascending in-
formation object addresses. This is displayed by the sequence bit. The se-
lection of ASDU types for which this optimization is allowed is based on the
edition of the standard.
