6 Commissioning

To activate the motor-drive unit and control unit, proceed as follows:

1. Activate the power supply for the control unit.

The control unit starts automatically after a few seconds. The

LED

flashes for 10 s to indicate the inrush interlock. After 10 s, this LED
lights up blue continuously.

The

LED also starts by flashing and then lights up continuously as

soon as the internal energy accumulator is fully charged.

If the

LED is not lit up, then the control unit is ready.

If the red

LED is lit up and the

event code appears in the dis-

play, the motor-drive unit and control unit have not yet been adjusted to
one another.

2. Before commissioning, an automatic adjustment of the on-load tap-

changer and the motor-drive unit must be made. Observe section "Auto-
matic adjustment [

6.3.5 Performing trial tap-change operations

Before you activate the transformer, you must carry out trial tap-change op-
erations to check the mechanical and electrical functions of the on-load tap-
changer and the motor-drive unit.
