Modifying the Environment
Overview
The factory-installed debug monitor, 167Bug, enables you to view and
modify certain MVME167P hardware configuration parameters after the
board has been installed in a system. For this purpose, the following two
commands are available:
❏
CNFG, used to modify the Board Information Block, an NVRAM
structure which contains various entries that define operating
parameters of the board hardware.
❏
ENV, used to edit configurable 167Bug parameters in the
MVME167P board’s NVRAM.
The CNFG and ENV commands are both described in the Debugging
Package for Motorola 68K CISC CPUs User’s Manual (listed in
). Refer to that manual for general information
about their use and capabilities.
The configuration parameters are stored in the MVME167P’s Non-
Volatile RAM (NVRAM), also known as Battery Backed-Up RAM
(BBRAM).
The following sections present additional, MVME167P-specific
information about CNFG and ENV, and describe the 167Bug parameters
that you can modify with the ENV command.
