Before starting, you must first determine if your DirecTV service is a Single Wire Multi-switch

(SWiM) or non-SWiM installation.
To verify that your DirecTV service is on a SWiM network, please follow the instructions below

from DirecTV 1.

Turn ON your HD DVR.

Press the

DASH

button on your remote control.

A message will display at the bottom of your TV screen.

If the

SWiM Connected

message DISPLAYS, see
