Cleaning the External Surface of the Radio
When and where to use:
CAUTION:
Do
not
use solvents to clean your radio. Spirits may permanently damage the radio
housing.
Do
not
submerge the radio in detergent solution.
Procedure:

Combine one teaspoon of mild diswashing detergent to one gallon of water (0.5% solution).

Apply the solution sparingly with a stiff, non-metallic, short-bristled brush, making sure excess
detergent does not get entrapped near the connectors, controls or crevices.

Dry the radio thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Battery Charge Status
Your radio indicates the battery charge status through:
• LED and sounds
• The fuel gauge icon on the display
You can also check the battery charge status using the menu entry. See

When your battery is low:
• the LED blinks red when the
PTT
button is pressed.
• you hear a low-battery “chirp” (short, high-pitched tone).
