LOAD MONITORING FUNCTION B
The operating and setting methods for the load monitoring function B are explained here.
9-1
General
The load monitoring function B is used to detect abnormality of a tool by monitoring the variation in
motor load during cutting.
The function includes the following features:
1.
Teaching operation
The teaching operation is used to detect the reference load (maximum value) of the spindle
and feed axis during the actual cutting process.
2.
Manual setting and display of load monitoring table
The data necessary for load monitoring can be set and displayed on the LOAD MONITOR
SETTING screen.
3.
Load meter display
The load of the spindle or feed axis is displayed on the LOAD MONITOR screen.
Display mode: Bar graph and numeric value
4.
Load monitoring
The load torque of the spindle or axis drive motor is detected to sense warning and alarm
state.
Warning: Start interlock processing (macro input signal processing is optionally provided).
Alarm:
Feed hold and spindle stop processing
<Cautions on using the function>
The function is not adequate for machining causing only slight load variation. This
includes machining to be performed using the tools like finishing tools, small diameter
drills and end mills with which load variation is small. Select the axis to be monitored
according to the type of tools and cutting conditions.
