HTP-1 Installation and User Guide Release 1.8.1

The wide synth feature also applies to the top middle channels. When wide synth is enabled with six
upper speakers, and there is no previous content in the top middle speakers the top middle will receive
a mix of upper front and rear.

The level of the wide synth mix is -6dB. Each of the channels that sum into the wide or top middle are
attenuated by 6dB.

Wide Synth is disabled in direct mode.

Bass Enhancement (AKA Bass Reinforcement)

The bass reinforcement feature gives you "more bass" if you have both large speakers and program
material with an LFE channel.  Bass reinforcement will have no effect on typical stereo material as there
is no LFE signal.  It will have no effect if there are no large speakers in the system.  It will have no effect if
there is no subwoofer in the system.  The switch to enable it is found on the sound enhancement page.

The bass enhancement feature applies only when the HTP-1 bass manager is used. It is not supported
with the Dirac bass manager.

The Sound Enhancement panel of the system configuration gives access to these settings.
