Updating Legacy Shading Correction Settings
Note:
This procedure is required if you select the Legacy Correction check box for one or
more acquisition wavelengths.
All legacy correction images should be acquired using the widefield acquisition
mode.
If you select Legacy Correction as the Shading Correction method for an acquisition
wavelength, you need the shading correction image files for each magnification and
illumination setting. You then use these files to generate the files again whenever you replace
an objective, a filter set, or the light guide.
To generate the shading correction files, you need a shading correction plate that is
appropriate for the filter set you use. Shading correction plates are included in the accessory
kit.
Remove the paper backing from each plate before use. Handle the plates by the edges to
avoid getting fingerprints on the imaging surface. Never use alcohol or other solvents to clean
the plates. You can use compressed air to remove dust from the plates.
To run the shading correction journal, you need the System Maintenance Taskbar.jtb that is
part of the Main Taskbar.jtb.
To determine if this taskbar is installed on the computer:
1. Start the MetaXpress software.
2. Do one the following to display the Select a Taskbar dialog:
From the simplified menu, click Control > Journal > Taskbars > Load Taskbar.
From the standard menu, click Journal > Taskbars > Load Taskbar.
3. Navigate to the C:\MX6\Taskbars or to the location of your custom installation.
4. Select the System Maintenance Taskbar.jtb file. If the System Maintenance Taskbar.jtb file
does not exist, see Importing the Main Taskbar Journal Suite on page 234 .
5. Click Open to load the taskbar.
