Setting Slave Address and Slave 
Parameters

The physical position of the slaves in the ASi line is 
not important.

The valid range of slave addresses is 1 to 31. Each 
slave address must only be assigned once.

Setting the address for 
new slaves

When setting up the ASi network for the first time, the 
slaves should be connected one after the other. The 
address of each slave must be configured before the 
next slave is connected. The same procedure is used 
for both setting up a new ASi line and extending an 
existing ASi line with additional slaves.

Pre-requirements: 

– The PLC must be in HALT mode.

– A simple (e.g. dummy) program containing a 

minimum configuration consisting of the PLC 
and the ASi master must be loaded into the PLC

Procedure:

Connect a new slave

Start the Test & Commissioning Tool of the 
Sucosoft software, start the online topology 
configurator from the Connection List window.

Select the ASi master LE 4-505-BS1

Switch to configuration mode by choosing 
‹Component

menu.

Select the new slave in the graphical display

Choose ‹Component

➞

ASi Slave Status› in the 

menu to show the ASi Slave Status window 
(see Figure 30 on page 83).
