RFI filter
RFI filters have discharge currents to earth, which, in the event of
a fault (phase failure, load unbalance), can be higher than the
rated values. To avoid dangerous voltages, the filters must be
earthed before use.
For discharge currents

3.5 mA, VDE 0160 and EN 60335 specify
that
• the protective conductor must have a cross-section

10 mm

or
• a second protective conductor must be connected, or
• the continuity of the protective conductor must be monitored.
The table below lists radio interference filters with their matching
frequency inverters.
