(4) Formatting the standard ROM
The following describes how to format the standard ROM and operations after
formatting.
Each file in the standard ROM will be deleted after formatting the standard ROM.
Before operating the procedure provided below, back up necessary data, user
programs, and parameter files. (
(a) Formatting the standard ROM
1) By switch operation
Start up the C Controller module in the hardware self-diagnostic mode (
Page 16-84, Section 16.5.2), and perform the "Standard ROM format setting"
procedure.
• Start up the C Controller module in the hardware self-diagnostic mode
(with the RUN/STOP/MODE switch set to MODE).
• Repeatedly move the RESET/SELECT switch to the SELECT side until
both the RUN and USER LEDs turn on.
Check that both the RUN and USER LEDs have turned on and the current
mode is "Standard ROM format setting".
• Set the RUN/STOP/MODE switch to RUN to execute the "Standard ROM
format setting" mode. (Both the RUN and USER LEDs start flashing.
When the "Standard ROM format setting" mode is activated, it turns off.)
• After the RUN and USER LEDs turned off, restart the C Controller module.
• The standard ROM will be formatted after the C Controller module is
restarted. (The RUN and USER LEDs start flashing.)
• When the RUN and USER LEDs stopped flashing and the MODE LED is
flashing green, the standard ROM formatting is completed.
If the formatting of the standard ROM is terminated in error, each LED will
be as follows. (Redo the above procedures.)
RUN LED: On
USER LED: On
ERR. LED: Flashing
Remark
Do not power off or reset the C Controller module while the standard ROM is
being formatted.
Doing so will cause the standard ROM to be formatted again when the C
Controller module is started up at the next time.
