18.22 FNC134 – ACOS / Floating Point Arc Cosine
Outline
This instruction executes the COS
−
1
(arc cosine) operation.
→
For handling of floating point, refer to Subsection 5.1.3.

Explanation of function and operation
1. 32-bit operation (DACOS and DACOSP)
An angle is obtained from the cosine value stored in [
+1,
], and stored to [
+1,
].
A real number can be directly specified as
.
• The cosine value stored in [
+1,
] can be set within the range from
−
1.0 to +1.0.
• The angle (operation result) stored in [
+1,
] is expressed in radians (from 0 to
π
).
For conversion between radians and degrees, refer to RAD (FNC136) and DEG (FNC137) instructions.
→
For RAD (FNC136) instruction, refer to Section 18.24.
→
For DEG (FNC137) instruction, refer to Section 18.25.
Error
An operation error is caused in the following case; The error flag M8067 turns ON, and the error code is
stored in D8067.
• When a value specified in
is outside the range from
−
1.0 to +1.0 (error code: K6706)
