ATTENUATOR OPERATION
The RAU unit can be supplied with attenuators at the amplifier input, amplifier output or both. The maximum number of
attenuators depends on the model type: a maximum of two for the 1:1, and a maximum of four for the 1:2 and Dual 1:1
models.
The attenuation levels can each be set from either the front panel or the remote bus. In units that do not have slope
equalization, attenuation is associated with the Online path and is independent of amplifier switching in that path. In units
that do have slope equalization, attenuation is applied to both the Online and Standby paths and is not independent of
amplifier switching in that path. Attenuation settings are stored in nonvolatile memory, and at startup they are reset to their
last set values.
SLOPE OPERATION
The RAU unit can be supplied with slope equalization. In a unit with slope equalization, each path has a slope equalizer:
There are two slope equalizers for the 1:1, three for the 1:2 and four for the Dual 1:1 models.
The slope equalizers can each be set from either the front panel or the remote bus. Two Slope equalizer settings are
saved for each amplifier path; one for the Online path and one for Standby. Depending on what path position the amplifier
currently is in (Online or Standby), the appropriate slope setting is applied. Slope settings are stored in nonvolatile
memory, and at startup the equalizers are reset to their last set values.
