CONTEXT SAVE
This setting controls whether the context of downloaded fonts, pat-
terns, macros etc., are saved (
On ) or deleted ( Off ) whenever the
printer receives a print job that uses a different emulation from the
previous job.
For example: If downloaded fonts are saved in the RAM of your
printer using PCL 5e emulation and the CONTEXT SAVE setting is
set to (
Off
), these downloaded fonts will be erased if the next job
received by the printer uses a context other than PCL 5e.
In order to switch between saved emulation settings, there are two
possible options: [DISK] and [RAM]. The disk option requires a hard
disk and an increased amount of RAM. The RAM option requires an
additional amount of RAM only. If these requirements for
Context
Save
are not supplied, this menu will not appear. The default setting
for Context Save is OFF.
The minimum amount of memory required to support the
Context Save feature:
PS ERROR PRINT
In the event of a PostScript error, this setting determines whether or
not a PostScript Error Page is generated. The OFF default setting for
PS ERROR PRINT must be switched to ON in order to print an error
page. PS ERROR PRINT is only displayed when the optional Post-
Script SIMM is installed.
