6.1 Please note the following points:
What points are important to note when loading paper?
To avoid paper jams in the laser printer, please observe the following
points:
G Do not use any paper with the following features:
❍ Paper that has already been used in a thermal or ink-jet printer.
❍ Folded or wavy paper.
❍ Paper with a surface that is too smooth, too rough or irregular.
❍ Specially coated paper such as carbon paper or paper with an
adhesive surface.
❍ Paper that is not cut in the form of a rectangle.
❍
Paper that is held together by glue, adhesive or clips.
❍ Paper with labels that come off easily.
❍ Warped or curled-up postcards.
G Note the format marks in the paper source units. When paper is
loaded, the orientation is based on these..
What should you watch for when loading envelopes?
To avoid paper jams in the laser printer, please observe the following
points:
G Do not use envelopes that are self-adhesive or that have a tear-off
strip, sealing clip or a see-through window.
G Place the envelopes in the tray horizontally.
G Place the envelopes into the tray with the flap down so that the upper
surface of the envelopes is lying snugly against the side of the tray with
the feed roller.
G Load envelopes of format B5 with the flap facing down and pointing to
the rear side of the tray.
G Make certain that the flaps are neatly folded back.

Test the envelopes before buying large quantities!
Some types of envelopes fold easily when they are run through a
printer. Test a type of envelope before purchasing large quantities.
