7.10 Installing a network card
The printer supports network interface cards 10/100BaseT, 10BaseT/2
and Token Ring.
CAUTION
Your network card could be destroyed!
The network card is very sensitive. Handling it improperly could result in
damage to the network card that will render it unusable.
➜ Before you unpack the network card, touch a metal part of the printer
to cause static electricity to discharge from you.
➜ Hold the network card only by the edges.
➜ Avoid contact with the connections and printed surfaces.
➜ When working with the network card, always place it on an anti-static
mat or on a piece of aluminum foil.
1 Turn the printer OFF and remove
the power plug and the interface
plug from the printer.
2 Loosen the two screws above the
connection of the interface cable
and remove the cover.
3 Take the network card out of the
carton.
