Unpacking, installing, and setting up the printer

Connecting the printer to a computer (USB port)

Switch on the computer and start Windows 98, Windows Me, or 
Windows 2000.

Switch on the printer.

Connect one end of the interface cable to the USB port of the printer.

Connect the other end of the interface cable to the USB port of the 
computer.

The Add New Hardware Wizard (Windows 98/Me) or Found new 
Hardware Wizard (Win 2000) dialogue appears.

Insert the Software and Documentation CD-ROM supplied with your 
printer into your computer’s CD-ROM drive in order to install the USB 
device driver (see page 3-3).
