11.0 QUALITY CONTROL TESTS

Overview

Xoran encourages MiniCAT™ owners to develop a quality control program with the assistance of a
qualified medical physicist. In this section, we recommend some tests which can be included in the
program.

MiniCAT™ owners participating in an MiniCAT™ service agreement are eligible to receive
assistance performing these test procedures from Xoran Customer Service personnel. However,
Xoran recommends (and your state may require) that a medical physicist perform an independent
evaluation. Xoran provides a quality control phantom to use for these quality control tests.

Xoran has developed these procedures to scan only the sinuses and temporal bones, which are high-
contrast or ‘bone window’ imaging tasks that require isotropic high spatial resolution and do not
require the level of contrast resolution needed for other imaging tasks, such as brain or muscle tissue
scanning, etc. Xoran designed the MiniCAT™ according to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably
Achievable) principle by minimizing the radiation dose to the patient while providing the image quality
necessary for scanning the sinuses and temporal bones.

Should your MiniCAT™ system fail any of the following quality control tests, contact Xoran
Customer Service at (800) 70-XORAN for corrective action.
