Chapter 2 Basic Operation
Feeding/ Take-up device
With the switch of the feeding/ take-up device, select the
take-up direction of the media or others.
Setting the torque limiter
The feeding and take-up device direct-connection unit is
also included when you purchase the product. If you do
not use the feeding tension bar and the peeling function,
replace the direct-connection unit with the torque limiter.
The feeding and take-up torque can be adjusted with the
torque limiter.
(The torque limiter is set to “Medium” at delivery.)
If the tension is too strong to use a thin sheet of media,
lower the take-up torque with the torque limiter.
Clockwise turn:
Increases torque (a heavy and thicker media such as
tarpaulin or the like)
Counterclockwise turn:
Decreases torque (For light media)

(REVERSE)
• To feed face-in media by using
tension bar.
• Applying tension on face-out
media using small take-up unit.
DOWN
(FORWARD)
• To take up face-out media by
using tension bar.
• Applying tension on face-in media
using small take-up unit.
ON/OFF button
Turns the winding motion on/off.
(When you press the button and
operate the feeding device, the
device keeps taking up the media
until you press the button again.

media with the printed side facing

• When the torque limiter is adjusted too weak;
The media can not be taken up firmly.
• When the torque limiter is adjusted too strong;
The slack may occur depending on the media and
cause influence on the image quality.
• When using the tension bar,
adjust the torque limiter at about
75 to 100% of the maximum
torque.
When adjusting the torque
limiter, use the torque
adjustment handle supplied.
• There are the following two methods for taking up
the media on printer:
(1) Only use the take-up device to take up the
media
(2) Use the peeling function to take up the
media.
