ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Be sure to conduct maintenance works for the device when necessary or periodically so as to use the
device for a long time while keeping its printing accuracy.
When the device is left unused for a long period of time
•
Turn off the power to the device. (See page 1.25)
•
Remove the fabric that has been set on the device.
•
Keep the clamp lever pushed up.
Notes on cleaning
•
Never disassemble the device. Disassembling the device can result in
electric shock hazards and breakage of the device.
•
Prevent moisture from entering inside the device. If the inner part of the
device becomes wet, electric shock hazards and breakage of the device
can result.
•
Conduct maintenance works after turning off the power switch and detach-
ing the power cable. If not, unexpected troubles can arise.
•
Do not use benzine, thinner and chemical agents containing abrasives.
Such materials can deteriorate or deform the surface of the cover.
•
Do not apply lubricating oil or the like inside the device. Such materials
can cause the plotter mechanism to fail.
Cleaning wiper
The wiper is stained by dirt and ink while you use it. If you clean the head when the wiper is dirty,
you may get the head dirty.
Clean the wiper periodically.
For the procedure for cleaning the wiper, refer to page 4.10.
Cleaning ink at the bottom of the slider
When the plotter have been used for a long period of time, glued ink may accumulate at the bottom
of the slider. Leaving this condition allows ink drops to grow and may cause contamination of the
fabric. Clean the bottom of the slider periodically to remove ink drops using the supplied brush
dampened with water.
In this case, be careful not to brush the head nozzle. (See page 4.13, STEP12.)
