DG 408x Steam Ovens

Cause:

Steam generator not seated correctly or seal not sufficiently lubricated.

Remedy:

Lubricate the seal with silicone grease (part no. 05132001).
Slide the steam generator in properly, over the guides in the floor of the
housing.

Cause:

Steam generator heater (1R25, 2R25) defective.

Remedy:

Test the steam generator in service mode; refer to Section 060-4.2.

Note:

The heater elements are integrated into the housing of the steam generator
and cannot be replaced separately. Replace the entire steam generator
assembly if either of these heater elements is defective.

Cause:

Temperature sensor does not register the increase in temperature.

Remedy:

Check if the temperature sensor is seated in its seal. Re-fit it, if necessary.

Cause:

Water being used is extremely cold.

Remedy:

Use water at room temperature.

Cause:

Heavy mineral deposits.

Remedy:

Descale appliance. See the operating instructions.

Cause:

Float for monitoring water level is jammed. Safety cutoff after 38 minutes’
straight heating time.

Remedy:

Check float and guide at the insulated part of the steam generator.
Replace float or steam generator insulation, if necessary.

Cause:

Problems with the contact of the steam generator socket.

Remedy:

Replace the steam generator and its 3-pin socket; see Section 040-4.7.

Cause:

Software fault. At an altitude higher than 2183 feet (2000 meters) above sea
level, the descaling process is aborted.

F20

 appears in the display.

Remedy:

Since production index 41/..., a UBS altitude adjustment package (mat. no.
08349700) has been used. The UBS contains the electronics mat. nos.
06054305 and 06427543. After installing this UBS, the oven will have the
preheat function.
