Tips for cooking
Wipe the surface of the Tepan Yaki
before each use with a damp cloth to
remove any dust or other residue.
- Always preheat the Tepan Yaki for 8–
10 minutes before use. To do this, set
the power level that you are going to
be using for cooking. Preheat at
power level 12 if you are going to be
cooking at levels 9 to 12.
- It is important to get the Tepan Yaki
sufficiently hot before use, particu-
larly with meat. If it is not hot enough,
the meat will lose too much juice.
- Very little fat is required for cooking
on the Tepan Yaki and no fat is re-
quired for marinated food. Wait until
the temperature indicator light has
gone out before adding cooking fat to
the Tepan Yaki.
- Use only fats and oils that can with-
stand high temperatures.
- It is recommended to marinate food
for cooking. This will improve the fla-
vor of the food.
- Pat wet food dry with kitchen paper
before cooking to prevent it spitting.
- To prevent meat drying out, do not
season with salt until after it has been
cooked.
