Aperture
The aperture is the adjustable opening in a lens that varies the amount of
light reaching a target.
The f-stop indicates the size of the opening. The larger the number, the
smaller the opening.
As you go from a smaller number to the next larger one, e.g., 11 to 16, the
amount of light reaching the target in the camera is reduced by one-half.
The best image is obtained at the higher f-stops settings however, the
aperture is smaller and less light enters the lens. You will have to
experiment with the aperture setting to obtain the best image for your
application and lighting.
