Data initiated from the Aux Port
• Aux port data is passed directly through to the host when-
ever it is received by the scanner, unless the scanner is in
a polled mode, in which case the data will be ignored.
• Aux Port data is not echoed.
• Aux Port data to the host will not have a preamble or a
postamble.
• A <D> command is the only command accepted by the
scanner from the aux port. All other commands will pass through to the host.
Data initiated from the Scanner
• Scan data is not sent to the aux port.
Data initiated from the Host
• All host data is echoed to the aux port in unpolled mode.
Daisy Chain Mode
In a daisy chain application, a primary scanner is linked
directly to the host and succeeding scanners are linked in
tandem. Data from succeeding scanners is transmitted
directly to the host as if it were coming from the primary
scanner.
The conditions for a daisy chain application are as follows:
• The primary scanner’s trigger can be serial or external and
it’s connected to the host in point-to-point without RTS/
CTS.
• A default two character Daisy Unit identifier is assigned which can be changed in the
Daisy Chain Setup dialog (after enabling Daisy Chain as the Mode in Auxiliary Port in
the Communications menu).
• Each succeeding scanner in the daisy chain must be connected to the aux. port of its
preceding scanner and set to serial or external trigger.
