7.2 Adjustments with machine not running
7.2.1 The guide bars.

• Guide bar (A) keeps the shackles from
touching the brass gears and keep the
bird in right position.
• Guide bar (B) keeps the shackles from
touching the blade units.
• Guide bar (C) guides the birds
properly in the lifting unit. Adjust guide
bar (C) in height there where the leg
loops are just not touching it when the
bottom part of the machine is in the
highest production setting.
• Guide bar (D) guides the birds
properly in the lifting unit.Adjust guide
bar (D) in height where the lifting units
are just not touching it when the
bottom part of the machine is in the
lowest position.
The in feed bars (C and D) should be adjusted close enough to the machine to guide
the birds properly in the lifting unit. Check these guide bars regularly. The adjustment
of the in feed guide bars and height of the machine is good if most of the tails are
grabbed by the tail clips. This can be checked at the in feed side just before the blades
are starting to cut the vents.
Vertical adjustment:
• Loosen the nuts (E).
• Adjust the bars in height by means of the sleeves (G).
• Tighten the nuts (E).
Horizontal adjustment:
• Loosen the serrated knobs.
• Put the guides in the desired position.
• Tighten the serrated knobs.
