Circuit example "Safe Torque Off" (STO) 

The "Safe Torque Off" (STO) safety function can be requested by various devices. The switch S1 can 

be, for example, an emergency-stop switch, a switch of a protective door, a light curtain, or a safety 

switching device. The safety request is realised via two channels and via the switch S1. As a result, the 

output stage will be switched off via two channels. Once the output stage has been switched off, this is 

output by the floating contact REL1/REL2.
