Identifying Your Engine Control System
Electronic Control Serial Number
The engine control system for some engines and pod drives is assigned a serial number that is printed on data tags. Two data
tags are placed on these products: one is located on the engine near the engine serial number data tag and one is located on the
VIP.

The serial number on the engine control system data tag identifies the control system architecture used on the vessel and guides
service personnel to the appropriate parts manual, service manual, and other related documentation.
Electronic Control System Architecture
There are two different control system architecture options for use with the Zeus 3000 Series pod drives:

SmartCraft 2.2
—First generation architecture; initial release of Zeus electronic control system architecture.
NOTE: SmartCraft 2.2 supports a maximum of two helm stations and will not allow the use of an auxiliary joystick station.
•
SmartCraft 3.0
—Second generation architecture; initially released for triple and quad system installations. This architecture
allows the operation of separate auxiliary joystick stations from up to three helm stations.
NOTE: SmartCraft 3.0 architecture is also used in some dual system applications and allows auxiliary joystick station and
third station compatibility.
