Vehicle identification data

The vehicle identification number (VIN) and the vehicle
identification plate may neither be changed nor fitted
to a different point on the vehicle. The VIN is stamped
into the longitudinal member in the engine compart-
ment next to the fuse box. The identification plate with
the VIN and information on the permissible weights
is located on the B-pillar on the driver side (see chap-
ter “Vehicle serial number from manufacturing plant”
