Important safety information

WARNING
If you engage a gear while the engine is running, the
vehicle could suddenly start to move off out of control.
There is a risk of accident and injury!
Perform the emergency shift at the transmission only
when the vehicle is stationary, the parking brake is
applied and the engine is off.
General information
If the pneumatic power-assisted gear shift is inoperative, the
gears in the range group can still be shifted using the gears
-
hift lever but with substantially greater effort. Occasional gear
changes while driving are also possible using greater effort. It
is not possible to change the range group without the pneu-
matic power-assisted gear shift. Have the gearshift checked
at a qualified workshop.
If the power transmission from the gearshift lever to the
transmission is disrupted, you can engage 3rd, 4th or re-
verse gear manually at the transmission. You can move off in
4th gear. It is not possible to change gear while driving. Have
the gearshift checked at a qualified workshop.
Depending on the equipment installed, it may be necessary
to tilt the cab in order to gain access to the gear and gate
levers.

If a gear is engaged, move the gear lever down to neutral
position

top of the transmission to position

To engage 3rd gear, move the gear lever to position

The gear is engaged when the shift shaft is felt to engage
in the corresponding position.

Push the gate lever on the transmission forwards to

, overcome the point of high resistance and
hold in this position.

Release gate lever.
