Towing and Recovery | Actros, Antos (Model 963), Arocs (Model 964)
Before tilting the cab, perform the following operations:
M
Keep the area in front of the cab clear for safety reasons.
M
Apply parking brake.
M
Shift transmission to neutral.
M
Vehicles with air-sprung cab:
Let engine run until the
compressed air system is filled and the compressor shuts
off.
M
Switch off engine.
M
If the engine is to be started after tilting the cab, switch
the electronic ignition lock to the drive position.
M
Switch off auxiliary heater.
M
Switch off stationary air conditioning.
M
Switch off refrigerator box.
Refer to the separate operating instructions for the
refrigerator box. Wait 10 minutes after tilting back the cab
before switching the refrigerator box on again.
M
Remove loose objects from the cab or stow them
securely,
e.g.:
• Cans
• Bottles
• Tools
• Bags
M
Close interior and exterior stowage compartments.
M
Close doors.
M
Make sure that the coupling pin of the front coupling jaw
is secured and that the coupling jaw is covered.
M
Open maintenance flap, see page 14.
M
Secure vehicle using wheel chocks to prevent it from
rolling away.
