Introduction of the New G-Class, Model Series 463
M 273
The exhaust system of the M 273 consists of two fire-
wall catalytic converters which are directly down-
stream of the left and right exhaust manifold.
Once the exhaust has left the two firewall catalytic
converters, it flows through the front muffler. From
there, it passes through the center muffler before
leaving the exhaust system through the tailpipes.
OM 642
The exhaust system of diesel engine OM 642 consists
of an oxidation catalytic converter, a diesel particulate
filter and an SCR catalytic converter. The exhaust
system has an SCR catalytic converter with a volume
of approx. 15 liters at the vehicle rear. Here, harmful
nitrogen oxides are reduced through the injection of
the AdBlue
®
urea solution. The exhaust system also
has two noise-damping reflection chambers.
