Buttonhole with thread inlay

1.
Raise the buttonhole foot and lay the thread
inlay around the rear hook at (1).
2.
Advance the thread ends under the
buttonhole foot. Ensure that they are located
in the middle.
3.
Hold the thread ends and cross them over
the fork (2) at the very front of the buttonhole
foot.
4.
Lower the needle into the fabric and lower
the presser foot before you begin sewing.
5.
Carefully press down the foot control and
sew the buttonholes so that you are sewing
over the thread inlay with the top thread.
6.
Remove the fabric and cut off the sewing
thread with a pair of scissors.
7.
Pull the thread inlay from left to right at the
same time as securely holding the fabric.
8.
Use a needle and pass the ends of the
thread inlay through to the reverse of the
fabric, then cut them off with scissors.
