4.1.6.3 Uninstalling Mellanox OFED using the apt-get Tool
Use the script
/usr/sbin/ofed_uninstall.sh
to uninstall the Mellanox OFED package.
The script is part of the
ofed-scripts
RPM.
4.1.7 Updating Firmware After Installation
The firmware can be updated in one of the following methods.
4.1.7.1 Updating the Device Online
To update the device online on the machine from Mellanox site, use the following command line:

4.1.7.2 Updating the Device Manually
In case you ran the
mlnxofedinstall
script with the ‘
--without-fw-update
’ option or you
are using an OEM card and now you wish to (manually) update firmware on your adapter card(s),
you need to perform the steps below. The following steps are also appropriate in case you wish to
burn newer firmware that you have downloaded from Mellanox Technologies’ Web site:

=> Support => Firmware Download).
Installing MLNX_OFED using the
“apt-get”
tool does not automatically update the
firmware.
To update the firmware to the version included in MLNX_OFED package, run:
# apt-get install mlnx-fw-updater
mlxfwmanager --online -u -d <device>
mlxfwmanager --online -u -d 0000:09:00.0
