PATTERN CONTROLLER STARBI
USE

4. USE
This section explains how to use the pattern controller. Although its operation
is very user-friendly, it should not be used by untrained personnel.
Warning:
Improper use may damage the unit itself or injure the person
using it.
Start-up and automatic process
When turning on the switch on the rear, the GREEN POWER LED remains lit.
The unit is powered but the screen remains off.
Note:
When the unit is turned on, it starts in STOPPED mode. Even if a product
is selected, the outputs are not activated.
When the ON/OFF button is pressed, the screen turns on and the POWER LED
stays on.
Manual change from RUNNING mode to STOPPED mode
In STOPPED mode, the RED LED of the button remains on. To start producing
press the STOP button. The RED LED goes off and the unit switches to READY
mode.
If the conditions for producing are met, it automatically switches to RUNNING
mode (central GREEN LED on) and the product selected in the program will
start to be produced.
Every time STOP is pressed, the system changes from STOPPED to RUNNING
status and vice versa.
Automatic change from RUNNING mode to STOPPED mode
Through Modbus/Profibus communication, it is possible to make the
automatic change from one mode to another. This is compatible with the
manual mode change.
For more information on Modbus/Profibus communications, see the ‘Modbus
Communication’ and ‘Profibus Communication’ points in this chapter.
