4.11 Pressure release _______________________________________________________
After completion of the sterilization time, the Vacuklav
®
31 will automatically open the pressure-release valve
to reduce pressure. The system will then cause the residual water from the steam generator and the cham-
ber to flow into the condensate container.

Display line 2:
2.15bar 134°C
Line 2 of the display will show the current measured values for pressure and temperature.
4.12 Drying and removing the sterilized items___________________________________
The drying time is from 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the program executed. During this time, the vacuum
pump will produce subatmospheric pressure in the chamber. This will lower the boiling point of the water,
which in turn ensures more effective drying. The display will alternate between the following information:
the drying time in minutes which has already elapsed, and the notification that the cycle can be interrupted at
any time by pressing the start/stop button [19] to immediately take out the sterilized items.
Important:
For
more information here, please consult the information in Section 8: "Instructions on drying."

4.13 Supplementary drying __________________________________________________
The Vacuklav
®
31 has been provided with the supplementary drying button [21]. This function allows effec-
tive drying under difficult conditions: for example, with sterilized multiwrapped items. The supplementary
drying function extends the normal drying time (the length of the extra drying time will depend on the pro-
gram selected: see the Appendix "Technical Data"). The operator can select the supplementary dying
mode at any point in time.
4.14 Ventilation ____________________________________________________________
The subatmospheric pressure resulting from the drying process in the chamber is increased to normal pres-
sure by ventilation via the sterile filter [38] installed at the rear of the Vacuklav
®
31.

Display line 2:

Line 2 of the display shows the momentary values for pressure and temperature.
4.15 Opening the door ______________________________________________________
Do not open the door of the autoclave until the end of the sterilization cycle is shown in the display:
Display line 1:
End
Display line 2:
Max: 2.21 bar 136°C
If the operator prematurely interrupts the program, line 2 of the display will show the current values for pres-
sure and temperature, and not (as shown above) the maximum values reached. When the operator opens
the autoclave door, the lamp signal for door open [34] will light up.
