EMC & Electromagnetic Compatibility Data
Instructions/Notes regarding the PCF Pro and Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing to
EN60601-1-2:2007
The PCF Pro has been tested regarding its ability to operate in an environment containing other
electrical/electronic equipment (including other medical devices).
The purpose of this testing is to ensure that the PCF Pro is not likely to adversely affect the normal
operation of other such equipment and that other such equipment is not likely to adversely affect the
normal operation of the PCF Pro.
Despite the testing of the PCF Pro that has been undertaken, normal operation can be affected by
other electrical or electronic equipment. Portable and mobile RF communications equipment can
affect medical electrical equipment.
As the PCF Pro is medical equipment, special precautions are required regarding EMC.
It is important that the PCF Pro is configured and installed/put into service, in accordance with the
instructions/guidance provided herein and is used only in the configuration as supplied.
The PCF Pro may be supplied with the following accessories: serial data cable (MED1017) and
thermal printer (MED1014.1)
The PCF Pro’s data cable must be restricted to less than 3m in length and should not be extended by
the user. If the PCF Pro is used with adapted cables or cables other than those supplied, this may
result in increased emissions or decreased immunity of the PCF Pro, in relation to EMC performance.
If the PCF Pro’s is used with a printer other than the one supplied this this may result in increased
emissions or decreased immunity of the PCF Pro, in relation to EMC performance.
It should be noted that the cables provided with the PCF Pro should not be used on other equipment.
To do so may result in increased emissions or decreased immunity of the other equipment in relation
to EMC performance.
The PCF Pro should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment. If adjacent or stacked
use with other equipment is necessary, the PCF Pro and the other equipment should be observed /
monitored to verify normal operation in the configuration in which it will be used.
For the purposes of EN60601-1-2, the PCF Pro has an essential performance as follows:
Functions within the operating cycle should continue to operate as normal, and the product should
complete its operating cycle correctly.
