IN
THE
SETUP
MENU
All settings are made in the
SETUP
menu that you open using the SETUP
button. These settings relate to such options as image format, sound set-
tings and child protection.

Press
SETUP
. The main page of the
S E T U P
menu appears on the
screen with the four menus
G E N E R A L S E T U P , S P E A K E R
S E T U P , A U D I O S E T U P , P R E F E R E N C E
and the
E X I T S E T U P
entry. The active menu is shown by a dark bar:
Select a different menu using the
or
navigation buttons. Open
the active menu with the PLAY button.
If you can not open the
P R E F E R E N C E S
sub-menu, you opened
the SETUP menu during playback. Exit the SETUP menu, stop the in-
serted disk (2 x
STOP
) and open
S E T U P
again to access the prefer-
ences.
Navigating in the menus
You move through the menus using the navigation buttons. The active items are shown by a dark bar.
An explanation of each selected menu is given at the lower edge of the menu.
Open the active menu with the
PLAY
button.
Sub- and selection menus
For most sub-menus a selection menu on the right hand side is opened. The active
setting is shown by a dark bar: To change the selection, press
to move to the
right. The active item (in the diagram below:

) appears in a white font.
Press
or
to select a different item. Now the new selection (here:
W I D E
) is
shown by a coloured bar. The bar showing the old selection is initially retained
(
N O R M A L / L B
).
Press
PLAY
to confirm the new selection (here:
W I D E
). The bar showing the old selection (
N O R M A L / L B
) dis-
appears. Return to the left side of the menu using
.
Exit menu
You arrive at the higher level menu selection via the
M A I N P A G E
entry. Close the SETUP menu with the
SETUP
button.
