Performance Schedule — The ASIP is
implemented on a twelve (12) month comple­
tion cycle.
NOTE:
The segment schedule has been short­
ened and reorganized for ease of use by
the elimination of duplicated Segment 7
(included the repetitive portions of the
Segment 7 inspection in Routine Inspec­
tion) and the creation of equal intervals
for the segments thru the year (new 12
Month segments, first published in June
2004).
A change from the old 24-month segment
schedule to the new 12-month segment
schedule requires a Segment 7 inspection.

E. Changing Inspection Programs
Before you start a new inspection program or
change to a different inspection program, the
operator must do the requirements of an
Airframe Periodic Inspection Program and the
1-year special inspection schedules.
F. Scheduled Inspection Tolerance
When unusual local conditions, such as
environment, use, etc., dictate, it is the
prerogative and responsibility of the operator
to increase the scope and frequency of the
inspection activities as necessary to make sure
of safe operation.
Each inspection item must conform with the
aviation regulatory requirements, airworthi­
ness directives (ADs), and service bulletins
(SBs). Inspection intervals identified therein
are the maximum permitted and must not be
exceeded.
For maintenance scheduling convenience, with
the exception of an inspection required by the
local governing civil aviation authorities:
Hourly inspection intervals can be extended
by ten (10) percent.
Calender inspection intervals can be
extended fourteen (14) days for one (1) year
requirements and thirty (30) days for two (2)
or more year requirements.
An inspection interval extension must be
deducted from the next inspection interval.
Example: if a 300-hour inspection require­
ment is done at 330 hours, it is next due in
270 hours with a possible extension of 27
hours.
NOTE:
Over flying a specified regulatory au­
thority inspection interval, or a change to
the requirements of this chapter, can be re­
quested through the local governing civil
aviation authorities.
G. Inspection Areas
The aircraft has been divided into seven
different inspection areas (ref. Figure 1). Each
area is addressed independently by the
inspection program with multiple area
inspection requirements only when necessary.
H. Inspection Schedule Guide
The tables for each inspection program/re­
quirement are divided into four columns:
The first column is for the model of helicop­
ter the inspection is applicable. The 900 in
the first column shows the model MD900.
NOTE:
The MD900 is the only model listed in
the Type Certificate Data Sheet (H19HM).
The 902 is a configuration difference (ref.
Section 01-00-00, Aircraft Configuration).
