(b). Attach one end to component and
check for continuity between contact
and connector.
(c). Detach connector and attach the
other end to component. Check for
continuity between contact and
connector.
NOTE:
If contact is shorted to connector when
cable is attached to a component, then the
component is defective.
(10). Correct discrepancies if found.
(11). If applicable, perform other electrical
tests.
(12). Attach connectors, terminate wired
contacts, and environmentally seal
terminations as required.
(13). Install and secure all access panels
removed.
(14). Restore power to helicopter.

NOTE:
D
A voltage test verifies that power and
instrumentation signals are in the ap
propriate ranges.
D
Perform a voltage test only after continu
ity and open circuit tests have been com
pleted.
D
This test procedure does not
apply to RF
cables.
(1). Locate wire harness to be tested.
(2). Remove access panels as required.
(3). Use applicable interconnect diagrams.
(4). Perform Continuity Test procedure, and
Open Circuit Test procedure.
(5). Connectors and wired contacts that will
be used as test points shall remain
unconnected. Attach and terminate all
others.
(6). Apply battery and external power to
aircraft.
(7). Place switches and circuit breakers in
appropriate positions, and apply power
to system being tested.
(8). Use
Analog Multimeter, Portable
to
perform voltage test on wire.
(a). Set multimeter to measure DC
voltage.
(b). Use multimeter leads and any other
adapters to attach to circuitry.
(9). Measure the voltage between two
points under test.
(10). If voltage test results in no signal
present, or a signal that is present but
not in correct range, perform the
following:
(a). Isolate faults in component providing
power or signal. Replace defective
parts or component as an assembly.
(b). If replacement of component fails to
correct discrepancy, replace wire.
(11). Remove power from system under test,
and power off aircraft.
(12). Attach connectors, terminate wired
contacts, and environmentally seal
terminations as required.
(13). Install and secure all access panels
removed.
