Detach crankcase ventilation hoses (1, A-B)
from the oil tank.

Move crankcase breather (2) in direction (C).

Note overview of cylinder sequence 1 - 8.

Care
Point:

Must remove bolts (4) for ignition
coils 4 and 8 before disconnect
happens.

Care
Point:

To remove ignition coils (7) 4 and
8, once bolt (4) is removed turn
180° to disconnect electrical
connectors (3).

Care
Point:

Remove ignition coils (7) 4 and 8
first to allow better access to
disconnect ignition coils (7) 3 and
7.

Disconnect electrical connectors (3).

Care
Point:

To remove bolt under frame for
ignition coils (7) 3 and 7 access
bolts from opposite side of vehicle
with a magnetic socket.

Remove bolt (4). M6 x 20 6 Nm

Care
Point:

Prevent debris from falling in whilst
selecting tools for spark plug
removal.

Remove ignition coil (5).

Care
Point:

For spark plugs in position 1
and 5 the following tools are
required:

bent handle flexi head 3/8" drive
ratchet with 6

locking extension

14mm spark plug socket that is
either magnetic or has an
interference fit

For all the remaining 6 spark
plugs the following tools are
required:

bent handle flexi head ratchet with

”

locking extension

universal joint
14mm spark plug socket that is
either magnetic or has an
interference fit

Prevent debris from falling in whilst
selecting tools for spark plug (7)
removal.

Remove spark plugs (7). NGK T20231A HR8
