Vehicle Communication Interface 

The MDS can be run on a range of laptop PCs and is designed to work on Windows XP, 7 and 10 in 
either 32bit or 64bit configuration.

 

The Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) is physically connected to the car using the OBD II port, 
and through a USB connection to the laptop containing the software and a valid licence. 

The VCI is supplied with a USB cable, 12V power supply and a 16 Pin J1962 OBD cable. To configure the 
interface to work with the MDS, there is a separate program to initialise the Wi-Fi connection and set 
up a network.
