To i ncrease i ntake a i r amount and combust i on
eff i c i ency, the S-DAIS controls the s i ze of the
i ntake ports and the a i r length i n the i ntake p i pes
by open i ng or clos i ng the SSV, VDI valve, APV,
and VFAD valve (w i th VFAD) accord i ng to eng i ne
speed and load cond i t i on .

At the low-speed range, the secondary and
aux i l i ary ports close, and a h i gh veloc i ty i ntake a i r
amount i s fed from only the pr i mary port . Due to
th i s, better combust i on eff i c i ency i s obta i ned by
the i mproved fuel atom i zat i on, produc i ng h i gh
torque output .
