Chapter 6: Installation of the optional
UPS Power Management System
Installing the UPS Hardware
Note:
This option is available for dual/triple display systems only.
Note:
Ensure that the system is powered down and that the AC power cable is physically
disconnected from the system before commencing the following procedure.
1) Open the display assembly into its service position as discussed in the
MaxPac Single / Dual /
Triple-Screen 8230 XRA1/2/3 User Operation and Maintenance Guide

2) Use a Philips #1 screwdriver to remove the two screws attaching the wire harness protector plate
to the disc array. Observe the vertically mounted auxiliary power distribution board located in the
back left-hand corner of a Rev-0 system (Figure 6-1). By comparison, this board is not required in
the case of a Rev-A system (Figure 6-2).

3) In the case of Rev-A systems, the left-hand display data and power cables may be located high
up in the chassis as illustrated in Figure 6-3. If this is the case, gently reposition these cables to
the bottom of the chassis as illustrated in Figure 6-4.
