Defining your settings in the Matrox MXO preferences window
Specifying your Mastering mode settings
To specify your Mastering mode settings on Matrox MXO:
1 From the Apple menu, click System Preferences , and then click the
Matrox MXO icon.

Click Mastering .
3 Under Video Output , select Both fields , First field , or Second field from
the Scrub and pause menu to indicate whether you want to display both
fields or only one field when you pause video playback or scrub the timeline
in your project. For example, you may want to scrub the first or second field
to eliminate the flickering that can be seen in your picture when you pause
while scrubbing interlaced video.

Under Video Output , select Downconvert HD video to SD if you want to
downconvert HD video output to SD.
Remarks

When you select Downconvert HD video to SD , you do not need to
change your video playback setting in Final Cut Pro. Your project’s video
playback setting must always match your sequence setting.

If you’re working with a 1080p at 23.98 fps project in Final Cut Pro
(1080p24), selecting
Downconvert HD video to SD will not be enough
to successfully downconvert to SD because a pulldown process must be
