6.7.3 Origin
In Origin 1–3 menus, you can, separately for each axis ( X, Y, Z ),
•
enable and disable the manual zeroing of the position val-
ues in the position display with
, and ,
•
select the function for setting the machine zero (not avail-
able for absolute measuring systems/encoder type
SSI ), and
•
enter the zero offset of the machine zero (not available for
absolute measuring systems/encoder type
SSI ).
Distinguish between the following terms:
•
Position value: Current position value, which is displayed
for each axis in the position display and can be zeroed with
, and .
•
Machine zero: Coordinate zero point of the respective axis.
For each axis with an incremental measuring system, the
machine zero can be set manually or by a reference mark. If
you change the function for setting the machine zero, the
current machine zero becomes lost and must be reset using
the selected function.
For absolute measuring systems (encoder type
SSI ) the ma-
chine zero is set by hardware and not configurable.
•
Reference mark: Incremental measuring systems can be
equipped with one or several reference marks, which deliver
a separate control signal when they are approached. This
control signal can also be used for setting the machine zero
for the position correction.
Signals from reference marks of absolute measuring systems
(encoder type
SSI ) are not evaluated by the PROFILER ST.
