6.5 Using the Position Correction
6.5.1 Functioning of the Position Correction
The PROFILER ST is equipped with a piecewise linear position
correction, in order to compensate for length measurement
errors of your measuring setup. The measurements can be cor-
rected using up to 128 reference positions for each axis. The
PROFILER ST calculates position values between the reference
positions through linear interpolation.
6.5.2 Configuring the Position Correction
NOTICE
Incorrect position values from relocating the machine
zero or changing the encoder type!
Position correction values are valid as long as the location of
the machine zero and the chosen encoder type are unchanged.
If you, after entering position correction values,
•
relocate the machine zero,
•
approach another reference mark to set the machine zero,
•
change the function for determining the machine zero or
•
change the encoder type,
you must delete all previously stored position correction values
and enter new position correction values.
