6. Feeding (Self-priming) Water
Feeding water directly from a water tap (faucet)
Caution
When working is stopped temporarily, close the water tap.
When working is over, close the water tap and remove the water suction hose. Be careful to prevent
mud and dust coming into the suction hose.
Caution
Use tap water (drinking water). Use of unfiltered well water may cause sand and other foreign
matter to enter the pump, resulting in breakdown.
Supply capacity of the water tap must have at least 20 liters of water per minute. If the capacity is
low, vibration or abnormal noise may occur and pressure may not rise. If the supply capacity of the
water tap is low, prepare a larger water feed container for self-priming.
Close the water tap when starting the engine. Otherwise, even if the water drain/air bleeder
knob is
opened, it is difficult to start the engine. (Once the engine has started, open the water tap
immediately.)
Do not bend the water suction hose or pull it in the lateral direction. It may result in hose damage or
cause it to burst.
Before operation, open the water tap and then pull the trigger
to confirm there is no water leakage from the
connection part of hoses, pump, spray gun, etc. (* Keep the water drain/air bleeder knob closed.)
Close the water tap.
If water is leaking, check for looseness or abnormality of the gasket and O-ring. Be sure to correct it if
necessary, and then check again.
If there is no problem, you are ready to feed water.
Self-priming water
Caution
Do not use this machine for pumping drinking water.
Caution
Use water of 5 to 40
C. Use of hot water may cause breakdown.
If the outside air temperature is low and pump is feared frozen, warm up the pump with warm water,
etc. before use. If the machine is used while the pump is frozen, the pump may be damaged.
Use clean water (drinking water). Do not use water containing sand or scale particles. Also note that
agro-chemicals, chemical agents, highly viscous liquids, sea water, hot spring water or any
contaminated water containing the foregoing cannot be used. Use of such water may cause
breakdown.
Clean the water suction strainer after each use to prevent clogging.
Make sure the water suction strainer is completely sunk in water. If not, breakdown may occur or
water may not be suctioned.
The suction head which is the height between the water suction strainer and the pump suction port
must be less than 0.2 m. If not, breakdown may occur or water may not be suctioned.
Be careful not to squash the water suction hose at the edges of the water feed container.
Breakdown may occur or water may not be suctioned.
Remove dirt and sediments from the water feed container.
Add necessary amount of clean water (drinking water) to the container. The container of at least 20 liters or
more is recommended. If the container is too small, water will quickly run out and working is interrupted.
* If the supply capacity of the water tap is low, a larger feed container is required.
Sink the water suction hose strainer on the bottom of the container.
During working, feed clean water (drinking water) to the container as necessary.
