Thank you for purchasing this 80” Marston Pterodactyl short kit. It is highly unlikely that anyone else at your
flying field has anything like this. It is truly a distinctive design, and yours will no doubt be different from mine,
making it a one of a kind model.
Obligatory Disclaimer:
This is not a beginner’s kit. It is not a simple build, because it is not a simple airframe. It is what I call a
“builders kit”, meaning you should already have some building experience under your belt. The instructions are
as clear as I could make them, and if you use them in conjunction with the build pictures on the website (http://
www.pteroworks.com/web_gallery/index.htm#1), you should have enough information to build a beautiful and
airworthy Pterodactyl.
This airframe also requires some experience to fly. It is not a beginner’s plane. If you have been flying for
awhile, you should have no trouble at all launching, flying and landing this big bird. The wing loading is very
reasonable, and the airfoil is fast but not unruly, and there should be no surprises.
